A practical Montgomery parking guide for downtown museums, Dexter Avenue, Riverfront Park, DABOS Park, MPAC and major events. The City publishes current public-parking rules and rates; special-event pricing can still override the everyday schedule.
The everyday parking rules
The City of Montgomery currently says parking meters and kiosks are free on weekends and after 5 p.m. on weekdays.
The City lists roughly 2,500 public spaces, including five lighted and security-patrolled decks within about a quarter mile of The Alley.
On-street parking can use meters, kiosks or the ParkMobile app, depending on the space.
The City warns that public decks and lots may charge special event or convention rates of $10 per entry or more.
Downtown event pages will use the city parking rules when the venue is in the core. Attractions outside downtown can have their own lots or access rules, so those pages will send visitors to the venue source.
How parking appears on event pages
Every first-party event page includes a parking section. When we can confidently identify a major venue or district, the page shows the most relevant stable parking pattern for that location. For large sports, arena, festival or special-event dates, we deliberately avoid guessing and send you to the current organizer or city plan.
This gives you a useful starting point without turning an older parking article into bad directions on the night you actually need it.
